A substantial hand-forged wrought iron  key with a thick oval bow, solid shank and slotted forged bit. Displaying the robust proportions and craftsmanship characteristic of early ironwork, the key retains an untouched surface with wear and patination acquired over centuries of use.

A well-balanced and decorative example, equally suited to a collection of early locks and keys or as a stand-alone piece of historic ironwork.
