A rare surviving original 19th century advertising poster for Horniman's Pure Tea in a 20th century oak frame.  The original tea trading and blending business 'Horniman's Tea Company' was founded in 1826 in Newport, Isle of Wight, by trader John Horniman.    As London was the largest tea trading port in the world by the middle of the 19th century,  Horniman moved the company there in 1852.    Horniman's tea is still sold today.

The poster has some losses to the bottom and a patch middle right.   The poster has historically been laid onto linen.    There is staining commensurate with age.
