A Large Wrought Iron Key
A particularly substantial late 17th century wrought iron key, entirely hand-forged, measuring 22cm in length. The heavy stem with moulded detail leads to a boldly cut, double-stepped bit. To the top of stem is struck a clear trident marking, possibly a smith’s touchmark identifying the workshop.
Measurements: 22cm long
British, c.1700
