A mid 19th century naive school portrait of a British soldier. The uniform is typical of some of the regiments engaged in action around the time of the Crimean war. The soldier is portrayed looking straight on, sometimes typical of naive school portraits of the period. The portrait is on canvas, laid on panel and housed within a period mahogany frame, typical of the period. There is a small loss to the mahogany veneer.
