19th century study of an inkwell and candlestick
A late 19th century study of an inkwell, quill and candle stick. The portrait captures a moment on time with the pewter inkwell, quill dipped in the ink, standing on papers, with a candle stick and matched nearby.
The canvas has been supplied by the prestigous London art suppliers, Windsor and Newton when they were based at 38 Rathbone Place.
Oil on canvas. Some losses, would benefit from a light clean as the portrait is quite dark.
