A pair of Georgian ledgers from Scottow in Norfolk

***SOLD*** A pair of Georgian ledgers dating to 1759 and 1796 from Norfolk.  The 1796 ledger refers to the village of Scottow in Norfolk and appears to be the rent and expenses for tenants.   The other ledger is household expenses - in 1780  £178 pounds was spent on London Bacon and his wife is showing as costing £450 for the year - about £81,000 in today's money!  The ledgers contain fascinating details with how much was spent on builders, and even materials used.  £9 was spent on lime and hair for plaster during the year 1780 and £60 on the wine cellar - about £11,000 in today's money.   The book were clearly from a big estate in the area, possibly the Durrants, which would make this the ledgers of Sir Thomas Durrant.    The daybook has some loose pages and tearing away from the spine.
