A small 17th c oak chest
A small oak chest with lovely old ironwork repairs and additions telling the story of its survival over the years. It still remained a useful chest in the 19thc entury, already couple of hundred years old, when someone added to iron rods to stabilise the chest.
We love the simplicity and the size of the piece. It hasn't stood on legs been but down from a boarded chest , it started life as a chest, and remains so, that would stood on the floor or table as it was.
Measuring: 77 cm wide, 26 cm high, 29 cm deep
