A truly unusual piece.  Measuring just over 12 feet long this 19th century wooden sign from the ‘Charles Dickens Library’.  The origins of which particularly library are not know although Dickens was a supporter of public libraries.

The sign retains the origin al gilt paint finish.    The”C’ was damaged most likely when the sign was removed and then stored.   It was found in the basement of a shop in Manchester.

The longer piece measure just over 8 feet long, and ‘library’ measures 4 feet long.  It is about 13” high.

A truly unique survivor.
