A good 'Air Ministry' Bench with cast iron legs dating to 1925 standing at six feet long
A good cast iron legged Air Minstry bench dating to 1925. The leg is stamped with the Air Ministry Crown and dated and the thick pine top is worn and well used befitting its age and provenance. The Air Ministry was formed on 2nd January 1918 to manage the affairs of the newly formed Royal Air Force. Equipment provided to the Royal Air Force was stamped Air Ministry as an inventory mark. This is a particularly rare and early surviving example from the early days of the RAF when it was still in its first decade. A sturdy and substantial bench.
