A substantial hand-forged wrought iron warded key with a thick oval bow, solid tapering shank and slotted curved rectangular bit. Retaining an untouched surface with a rich natural patina and wear consistent with centuries of use, the key displays the robust craftsmanship characteristic of early hand-forged ironwork.
